Lake Estes Trail in Estes Park
Lake Estes is the crown jewel of Estes Park. It offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains and is a popular recreational destination for activities such as fishing, boating, and picnicking. The lake is surrounded by various parks and nature trails, providing ample opportunities for outdoor recreation and exploration.
Take a stroll on the lovely 3.7-mile paved trail around the lake is just steps away from Murphy’s Resort’s front door. Walk, run, bicycle, or rollerblade on the charming trail encircling the shores of Lake Estes and the Big Thompson River. A casual lake walk is the perfect change of pace for our guests as the trail is rarely crowded and a variety of wildlife abounds.
Though there is minimal elevation gain on the Lake Estes Trail, Estes Park itself is at an elevation of 7,522’, so be sure to pace yourself at our higher altitude. Remember sunscreen, sunglasses, and rain gear if needed. (Weather can change in an instant!)
